Staying Inspired and other things. . .

The school year is in full swing and I definitely feel like I am starting to fall behind and at the same time jump ahead. The transition to fall is the most exciting time of year for me. It is the time to put goals into action, be productive and do all those things you wrote down on your New Years resolution list before December 31 comes around.

For me, I am starting to delve into my creativity again. Not only in leisure but school as well, I am taking a different angle on essays and my classes and using it as an opportunity to look into myself and find inspiration in everyday life. Lately, life has been happening and not in the best ways. I am choosing to take it as an opportunity rather than letting it take me down and already I can take difficulty with stride and deal with the curveballs.

This weekend, my friends and I took a whole day to make floral arrangements and making crowns as well. I know some may think this is typical “white girl-ing” and “basic” as social media states these days but I want the world to take those terms and essentially destroy them from our existence. This is crafting and making something out of nature’s gifts. It was the most relaxing and therapeutic day I had in a long time. Nothing compares to being with good people, exercising creative juices and taking a step back to appreciate the beauty in nature.

Take this “rant” or “speech” as a reminder or motivation to go out and do what you want to do. You can conquer anything that comes at you, you just need to remember to have a positive attitude and a good mindset. Of course I cannot be perfect all of the time, I do throw myself pity parties, complain to people, and over all talk down to myself. But I have been making the effort recently to turn those “pity parties” into “productive parties”. Our minds our powerful, and we have the power to dictate our happiness. ๐Ÿ™‚

Things that have been making life easier on me lately:

  • Sufjan Stevens Pandora station
  • looking out of my bedroom window, observing nature
  • reading about people
  • studying at coffee shops
  • cuddling with my dog
  • lighting candles that smell delicious
